My new Morning ritual to start my day off right

 I’m pretty excited that my nutritionist gave me a new protocol to follow in the morning. I needed to get my body going before I go to the gym. I was doing OK with just collagen, water, and a small carbohydrate snack like an apple, but it wasn’t satisfying me. 

So this morning I tried my Japanese green tea first thing out of bed. This is before my collagen. I had my water all loaded up in my tea maker. This is a small singleserve machine that I only use for tea so there are no coffee remnants in it from anyone else’s K cups. It’s just my own little tea maker, one little cup at a time.

For this morning’s brew, I forgot that I had put two teabags in the cup, when I pressed start because the water was already loaded the night before. Normally, my tea does not give me a headache. My coffee used to all the time. But I stopped drinking coffee when I was pregnant with my son, and the headaches stopped

I know that green tea still has caffeine, but the hot beverage just hits me differently. I also don’t drink as much tea as I used to drink coffee. I will say that a headache ensued about 15 minutes later. This is a lesson learned. Because I used a small mug instead of the larger one I had yesterday, to teabags for this size was too much and unnecessary. I put too much caffeine in my head and I got hit with a headache. It did go away when I took Tylenol within the next hour, but that is just something to remember because this is certainly not a way to start the day.

With the tea I have a protein bar with carbohydrates, made by aloha. This is one of my favorite brand of protein bars because it tastes great and the ingredients are approved by my nutritionist because there are minimal additives that will lead to inflammation which she is careful about. I also have a small cup of blueberries. She said that the blueberries have amazing antioxidants that are good for me and this was an awesome start to the morning.

I had my collagen soon after, two scoops of chocolate collagen protein made by sports research. I have been trying viral proteins brand, but this is my favorite one. I think I will continue to use it.

So I started my day with a nice warm beverage, with caffeine for the gym, but I definitely won’t be having to teabags next time. This was a great start to my day.
