Clean up your creative space for better flow.

I didn’t always have a creative space, this just happened more recently. The way I created my meditation corner. The most quiet spot in my house at 4am before the gym. I had to really think about it and use the space over time to see what worked for me.

Before I cleaned up my creative space…
And After… my creative space gets a fresh start.

Because that space is a little distance away from my kitchen, in order to carry breakfast or bring tea which I am notorious for sulking, I roll it on a cart. Kind of like a busboy hauling surety dishes back to the kitchen.

My creative space where I have been painting motivation rocks for friends and for my own use, is located near a sink so I can easily clean up. It is also near my paper plates which I use to put my paint on like a palette and also for a few rocks to wait patiently as they dry waiting for the next coat.

When I just stopped complaining about how hard it was for me to use my right hand and pink, like I used to, I just thought about how I could make it happen with maybe my left hand or a different tool. I also didn’t have the space set up like I used to, so I wanted to see what I could do to make it happen and stop crying complaining.

I broke it down into steps to think that I just need the rock first. I also need to put a base coat on it or seal up the rocks at the market with slide smoothly on it.

All of these steps might take a day but I was in no rush. The main problem that I had was that my paints and markers were set up in a jumbo on top of a shelf on the right side of my kitchen away from my sink. It made me cringe to think of how to even start a rock project.
I just started grabbing rocks and random markers and see what I could come up with. This week when I started working on my creativity, I wanted to really refine my process.z. Not just make more and more rocks the same piecework way. The kinds of rocks that hurt my legs because I was on my feet way too much.

I looked at the space and I was cramming all of my creative supplies on top of my bread maker and in front of my Brava jet mopping robot. I have it there for easy access, not that it belongs on my counter. I brought over all of my supplies and put the markers in the stand with the color the top, so I could see what I want it right away, and the paint brushes too.
I also can’t wait to start my decoupage project. I’ve washed a few videos, and I’m ready to get rolling, but the messy way it was it was never going to happen. Now I’m going to do it on Monday, a fresh new day, and a fresh new start when Sean is at school. I can’t wait. I love being creative in the space that allows me to use my body to its fullest, and just think about being creative.

These rocks have a fighting chance of becoming awesome motivation rocks.
