Rainy Rails & Resilience: An Easter Journey with Laughter, Love, and a Lesson in History

Securing tickets for the Easter Bunny Train ride in Whippany this January was a triumph, especially given their scarcity akin to finding a needle in a haystack! Our journey wasn’t just any trip but a luxurious plunge into history aboard a club car, where comfort meets heritage, elevating our Easter escapade. The day, draped in rain, was illuminated by encounters with the Easter Bunny, whose presence brought joy and left us with “Easter bunny twins” as delightful mementos.
A standout moment was learning that Thomas Edison, a figure of immense historical significance, had once been a passenger in the very car we were seated in. With Edison’s picture adorning the conductor’s cabin, our ride transformed into a rich history lesson, nestled in wicker chairs that spoke of a bygone era of exclusivity. This snippet of the past fascinated my son, making our adventure not just fun but educational.
Navigating the museum’s uneven paths with MS and crutches added layers to our adventure, turning each step into a lesson in resilience and determination. These moments, testing yet fulfilling, demonstrated to my son and me the essence of perseverance and the joy in overcoming challenges.
Wrapping up with a quick tap for Chinese food on Grubhub, our adventure went from historic tracks to tasty snacks, making every raindrop part of a perfect Easter escapade.
