My Latest Mind-Blown Workout with a Friend.

Hi everyone, it’s Vickie Sicliano, Chronically Empowered Mom, and I just wanted to record this quick video today. It’s the first one that I’m going to put up on the blog. I haven’t done it in a while, and I just wanted to share what I’ve been working on.
So I’ve been working on some new workouts for the new year, trying to switch it up a little bit. There’s never an excuse for why I should not exercise because if I don’t exercise, it’s really difficult for me to walk and even function throughout my day. So I’m blessed to be able to go to the gym in the morning at 5:00 AM every day except when they open at 7:00 in the morning, on the weekends. And that’s at Planet Fitness here in Wayne, New Jersey. So I’m very lucky to be able to exercise every day.
And this morning I was very fortunate to work out with a good friend of mine at the gym, Howie Hammer, and he is just the best. He’s Hammer Fitness and he knows a lot about exercise. He’s in some great shape and I can only hope to be in half the great shape that he is someday. I’m just going to keep working hard and trying. He holds me accountable for what I do, and it’s really good to have somebody to aspire to be. I’m not saying that I want to look like build a male bodybuilder, but I certainly want to have some more muscle mass, some definition, and it makes me feel like I can get through my day much easier. Aesthetics is one thing. When you can function and get through your day without having it be a struggle with everything that you trying to do, lift something, stay awake when you get pretty fatigued throughout the day, especially having MS like I do.
And it’s just like I feel like another person when I’m at the gym in the morning. So Howie worked out with me this morning, and I’m going to post the video on YouTube. I’m going to start up my YouTube channel again. And the video was awesome because he decided that we should just do a real quick shoulder circuit training workout and I was able to hop in on the cable, on the jungle gym.
So there’s the cables in the middle that I always wanted to get on. There’s always somebody taking them in the morning because it’s facing the mirror and it’s just great. You could just face the mirror and do your thing and it’s just a big thing with a lot of the guys there who get on the machine a lot quicker than I can. So I was very happy to be able to be in the space that I always wanted to be in. And Howie grabbed a bench, moved it over for me, and we were just like rock stars in the morning. It felt really good not to just be on a machine off to the side out of someone’s way. I was like right in the middle of everything and it made me feel pretty good. So big shout out to Howie for that.
And thank you for watching this video. If you have any questions about exercise or how to keep empowered and on top of your game with chronic illness, or without, just drop me a line. I’d love to hear from you. Thanks for watching.
