Having Gratitude in Week 2. It’s so good to back!

Last week I was supposed to be working on my first virtue most important to me – physical fitness.

Back at the gym for 2023. Hip flexion it is..:

Unfortunately things didn’t go as planned since COVID knocked on our door on New Year’s Eve when my husband tested positive.  He had gone a few days prior to take Sean to see the top of the Empire State Building and to hop uptown to Rockefeller Center to see the tree.  Well that did happen, but he brought an unexpected and certainly most unwelcomed visitor home with him, one of the new COVID variants.

Mind you, we all have our booster shots, except for Sean who was scheduled to get his midweek.  That would have to be out on hold to make sure that he doesn’t test positive as well.  It would be pretty awful to get a booster of the nasty virus if the virus were already growing inside him.  We held off for the following week, making a new appointment with our township who offers the free vaccines.

We tested every day, especially Sean before he went off to school.  I stayed downstairs to let my husband isolate upstairs, but I popped in to make sure he was fed and didn’t have to navigate to the kitchen.  He stayed pretty contained in our bedroom. I never missed a flat by surface to lay on so much since I’ve been sleeping with my knees bent and feet planted flat for tha last week sitting asleep in a chair. It was the best thing available for me to sleep on and I needed to be on call if my husband should need something upstairs.  He was on Paxlovid, but you never know when he might have a need.

After a negative test came back yesterday, I was all ready to go back upstairs to my bed after disinfecting and changing some stuff around like sheets of course.

I have never been so grateful to have a bed under my body and my entire family safe from COVID.  My family here that is, because I just heard it’s at my sister in laws house now with her family testing COVID positive.  Stay safe out there and mask up!
