Mindfulness and MS: My Secret Weapon for Taking on the Day

Mornings can be tough. Some days, my body feels heavy, my mind is foggy, and everything just feels harder than it should. But instead of letting the day run me, I take control and it all starts with mindfulness.
Now, lets be real. I’m not someone who can just sit still, clear my mind, and meditate for hours. (If that’s you, I’m impressed.) My version of mindfulness looks different. Some mornings, I listen to a guided meditation, maybe a body scan, a visualization, or an affirmation. Other times, I grab my markers, put on some calming music, and get lost in coloring. The motion, the creativity – it pulls me into the moment.
Mindfulness is how I reset when MS tries to throw me off. It helps me stay focused at the gym, manage stress, and avoid slipping into unhealthy habits. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being aware of my breath, my emotions, and how I want to show up that day.
So, if your mind is racing or your body feels off, try this: one mindful breath, one quiet moment, one positive thought. Small shifts lead to big changes.
What’s one way you can bring a little more mindfulness into your day? Drop it in the comments I’d love to hear what works for you!
