Gratitude After the COVID Vaccine: Pushing Through Challenges with Support

Back in action after COVID Vax held me back

Gratitude has been my anchor lately, especially when life gets tough. Focusing on what I have, rather than the challenges, makes all the difference.

This week, after getting the Pfizer vaccine again (after trying Moderna last time), I felt pretty good at first—no chills or anything. So, I went to the gym, thinking I was in the clear. But then, a migraine hit, and by the end of the night, I could barely move. My legs weren’t cooperating, and I was exhausted.

But even in moments like that, I’m so grateful. I’m thankful for my motorized wheelchair, which gave me some independence when I needed it most. And, more importantly, I’m incredibly grateful for my family. My son, husband, and mom have been so supportive, helping me with everything I couldn’t do myself. Their love and help mean the world to me.

Today, I’m back at the gym, ready to do what I can. It might not be a full-on workout, but just showing up feels like a win. The early morning gym crew is like my tribe, and there’s something special about starting the day with people who are just as dedicated to taking care of themselves.

Gratitude keeps me going, even when life gets tough. What about you? What are you grateful for, or what helps you push through when challenges come your way?
