COVID Booster knocked me down but I’m Back!

I got my booster shot on Wednesday at 4:30 in the afternoon, when my township was offering them for free. All you had to do was register. I remember a time not too long ago when appointments were impossible to get and now they ask you if you want Pfizer or Moderno. Like we had a choice back then. You take what you get.
So two years later, and being my fifth booster shot, I opted for the Pfizer one. I only did so, because the efficacy for both is pretty close, and I did the Moderno last time, so I figured I’d switch back to the Pfizer. Moderno knocked me down for a day, but Pfizer did in the beginning too. I didn’t have it for the other boosters, but I figured I’d have a shot.
I felt good all of Wednesday evening, but when I went to the gym at my normal time of 5 AM, I felt a little sluggish. I didn’t feel like I normally did, but I had enough energy to just do some cardio. But then I realized that symptoms from the vaccination booster might kick in, and I still needed to walk to the car and drive myself home. Even though the ride is only seven minutes away, it’s still a ride with a motor vehicle on the streets.
For the rest of the day, I lost my core motor ability. This means that I couldn’t really sit up straight, I couldn’t walk without being supported, and I remembered what it was like when I got the first booster shot. At first, when you lose more mobility and function, you begin to get nervous about progressing with your MS. But I knew this was not the case, and I would recover during the day. I hold onto this to keep my anxiety at bay.
It wasn’t until later in the evening that I wanted some popcorn, I didn’t want to sit down and have a dinner, but I just wanted to feed myself a little bit. I haven’t really had hungry the rest of the day.
So forget about continuing on my planning portion of my self improvement, project, 13 virtues, it was survival mode for me.
I didn’t miss a blog post though, because I had planned the days before for the idea. I usually just talk it out to my iPhone in the morning. I post it. So that was good. I think I’ll continue that going forward. I had wanted to plan a little bit more for my meal planning, so I bought some Meal prep containers that had come when I was down and out. There were 50 of them in a box so I broke them out and put them in the cabinet. When I was feeling better, which was yesterday I broke them out, and I started meal prepping for the evening’s meal, delivered from home chef on Monday, this was the last meal of my three meal delivery.
So my family was able to eat their meal last night, and I was able to eat a little bit with them, it was barbecue beef, brisket tacos, so I just substituted some lentils for the meat, and had just a little bit of it. I know that eating meat later in the evening after 5 PM just does not do my body good.
And two days later I’m back!!!

So, if you plan on getting the Covid booster, no matter which one, Pfizer, or Moderna, just give yourself a couple of days to get back in action. Rest does the body good. So does science.
