Embracing the Morning Flow: Strength, Stillness, and the Sunrise

Go with the Flow sunrise
“Morning flow with the sunrise.”
“Flowing into the day ahead.”
“Flow starts with the sunrise.”

Living with multiple sclerosis has taught me a lot about going with the flow. Some days you have to plan carefully, and other days you just take it as it comes. This morning, I woke up a little earlier than usual, which I love because it gives me that extra quiet time. I grabbed my journal, sat down, and let the thoughts pour out—no pressure, just whatever was on my mind. Journaling first thing has been a game-changer for me. It helps set the tone for the day and clears my head.

Once I finished journaling, I knew exactly what was next. I headed to the gym for a chest, shoulders, and triceps workout. I skipped cardio today because I already knocked out 115 miles last month, and honestly, I felt great about that. Today, I just wanted to focus on strength training and go with the flow. It’s funny how planning ahead for those 115 miles made such a difference—I knew what I had to do each day, and finishing early felt incredible.

I’ve realized that when I start my day with a bit of intention, everything just flows better. Whether it’s getting a workout in or just sitting with a cup of coffee and enjoying the sunrise, having a sense of flow makes life so much easier, especially with MS. It’s not about doing it all, but about finding what works for you and letting it unfold.
