The Art of Creating Inspirational Coloring Books with AI

Ai generates coloring page with flow

This morning, I woke up at 2:30 AM, excited to dive into my creative process. As always, I wasn’t just working on images; I was refining the unique layers that make up my coloring books—both the backgrounds and the word art. My books are designed to inspire, motivate, and sometimes bring a little snark to the page, with quotes that people can not only read but also color in.

A key part of my process is ensuring that every element of thedesign can be colored. I create hollowed-out letters so they can be filled in with any color the user chooses. Personally, I love using special pens—like sparkly or glittery ones—to make the letters stand out. It’s all about giving people the freedom to color both the background and the words without feeling like they’re disrupting the flow of the page.

One challenge I’ve overcome is making sure the letters don’t interfere with the rest of the design. I don’t want someone to be in the middle of coloring a beautiful background only to have the letters suddenly cut across their work in a way that feels jarring. Instead, I ensure the text and background coexist harmoniously. That’s why I often use frames around the quotes, allowing the words to shine without overwhelming the rest of the image.

There’s so much thought that goes into each page. It starts with finding the perfect quotes—whether they’re motivational, snarky, or gentle reminders of self-care. Once I have the words, I carefully place them in a way that invites people to color both the letters and the background without either element dominating the other.

This morning, as I worked with AI to generate new designs, I tested some of my pages by coloring them in. I wanted to make sure the lines were easy to follow, and the letters were bold enough to stand out while still being fun to color. Every page I create is a balance between visual appeal and the practical aspects of coloring.

I’ve created many different types of coloring books—mandalas, animal designs, and even curse-word books—to practice and perfect my process. Now, I’m focused on making inspirational books that combine beautiful backgrounds with uplifting messages. These books are timeless because inspiration never goes out of style, and I’m taking the time to craft each page thoughtfully.

Every morning, I wake up excited to continue refining this process. I know that by putting in the time and effort now, I’m creating something that will inspire people for years to come.
